We are now looking for a development engineer with a burning interest in community building!

The Development Department consists of six employees responsible for and driving development projects from the moment a decision has been made until they have been implemented and can be handed over to the operations and management department. We are part of the Environmental and Community Building Administration with approximately 115 employees, with many different competencies. We collaborate with our assignments in clear processes.

The political responsibility for the operations primarily lies with the Environmental and Community Building Committee. Our most important tasks include offering buildable land for housing and business and being cohesive and leading in the development process.

Job Responsibilities

As a Development Engineer, you are involved in the community building process, from land acquisition to detailed planning, project design, expansion, and sale of properties and small house plots. You will work with land and development issues from legal, economic, and technical perspectives. In your role, you will develop detailed plans for new development areas together with planning architects, where you will concurrently prepare development agreements and/or implementation agreements.

You will prepare and implement land allocations and carry out the sale of properties. It also includes representing Falu Municipality in land surveying matters and assisting other administrations in the purchase and sale of properties.

You negotiate, evaluate, draft agreements and calculations, and prepare materials for political decisions. You drive the implementation of development projects and are responsible for financial follow-up. You will also collaborate with construction project managers in the land and construction department and with consultants, developers, property owners, authorities, municipal residents, politicians, and representatives from other departments and administrations within the municipality.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on land surveying and community building, where property law is a necessary component of your education
  • Experience in qualified work within community building such as; development engineer or equivalent, land manager responsible for property transactions or as a surveying land officer
  • You can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Driver's license B, necessary for the role as we work throughout Falu Municipality
  • Familiarity with the Office Suite

The role involves many contact points, and therefore good communication skills are important to facilitate dialogues that create understanding and drive projects forward.

You have a strong analytical ability that helps you interpret complex materials and make well-founded decisions. You take responsibility for your tasks and are motivated by working purposefully, where you actively contribute to moving projects from idea to implementation.

As a development engineer, you plan realistically in both the short and long term and find it easy to integrate your own plans into a larger overall picture, where both technical, economic, and strategic perspectives are considered.

Meritorious Qualifications

  • Experience working within a municipal or state organization
  • Experience independently driving negotiations
  • Familiarity with writing reports, agreements, and service documents

Employment Conditions

Permanent full-time position with start date according to agreement.
